Iron horse rooms are now a part of Root River inn…

Iron Horse was fully renovated in 2017 into 4 comfortable hotel rooms featuring all the amenities you’d expect from a well run historic inn. This building sits at the key intersection of Parkway Ave & Coffee Street making it convenient to absolutely everything in town. Starting Nov 2024, the 4 stately rooms above Iron Horse are reservable through our system. Each of the four hotel rooms feature a king bed, private bath & sitting area. Sophisticated nods to the areas railroad history and the “iron horse” that originally made Lanesboro accessible to visitors.

We've upgraded the bed linens & pillows, created more comfortable seating areas in rooms & brightened the lighting.  Rooms have been painted and lighting brightened. Guests here will now receive $5 gift cards for Paddle On to get started on breakfast as well.

We've also made upgrades to the common room, now named the The Phoenix Lounge. The front facing 3 windows and 1st one on the side are all part of the Lounge, a reservable meeting room with catering kitchen and seating area. More coffee options, games and improved seating make the most of this bright and beautiful space right on the intersection of Coffee & Parkway. It will be accessible to guests every morning and evening, but reservable in between.
